Florida Ranks #1 for Fun: Top State for Daytime Thrills and Nightlife Adventures

A recent study has named Florida the top state for an abundance of daytime and nighttime activities, which include everything from restaurants and theme parks to music festivals.

In Tampa, Fla., the concept of “fun” takes many forms, but one study suggests a broad consensus among Americans about which states offer the most enjoyment.

WalletHub's latest study ranks Florida as number one among all 50 states across 26 indicators of fun, covering daytime experiences, nightlife, and affordability. Popular attractions that contributed to these rankings include dining spots, amusement parks, and music festivals. Notably, Florida has the third-highest number of attractions per capita, contributing to its high ranking.

With a score of 65.51, Florida just edged out California, which scored 65.14. The Sunshine State took the second spot in entertainment and recreation and ranked third for nightlife.

In the entertainment and recreation category, California took first place, while Nevada led in nightlife, followed by New York.

The study used a 100-point scale, giving 80 points to entertainment and recreation and 20 to nightlife.

West Virginia came in last with a score of 17.01, ranking lowest in entertainment and recreation and 41st in nightlife.
